Anamet Europe’s oldest employees
Since 1974 a couple from Germany has received at least one phone call per week from a person looking for Anamet Europe. The couple’s phone number differs only one digit from the Anamet Europe sales team’s phone number.
When they married in 1974 and moved into their newly built home the couple soon started functioning as a kind of telephone operator. For 46 years they have been referring their fellow nationals who dialled the wrong number to the ‘real’ Anamet Europe in Amsterdam.
The story was discovered when the couple sent a message to the sales department in Amsterdam. The team quickly decided these ‘new colleagues’ obviously deserved a reward for their faithful service. The husband and wife stated they did not want a present for themselves, they would prefer Anamet Europe to make a donation to Doctors without borders, in their name.
Ralf Tigges and Eugen Busch, both Sales Manager Germany at Anamet Europe, paid the couple a visit. They brought them proof of the donation Anamet Europe made, a hamper full of tasty products and obviously a photograph of the Anamet Europe colleagues. The couple gave their colleagues Ralf and Eugen a warm welcome with some homemade cookies. During the visit the husband informed Ralf he has always really enjoyed communicating with the Anamet Europe customers all these years.
Anamet Europe is grateful for the help this married couple has offered all these years, without us even knowing, a truly great story of quite literally ‘connecting’ people.
